Day 4 focuses on the impact of grief, loss, and trauma on children and families involved in the child welfare system. Caregivers learn how grief may appear in daily interactions, how a child’s trauma history can intersect with their own reactions, and what effective support looks like in these situations. This day also covers the dynamics of sexual abuse, appropriate caregiver responses, and the role foster parents play in supporting family connections when appropriate. The goal is to prepare caregivers to manage complex situations with clarity, boundaries, and informed decision making.Contact: Shayna Johnson 412-471-8722 ext. 246 Email: sjohnson@tracpgh.org
